Elegante, schlichte Form mit einem stabilen Griff, der angenehm in der Hand liegt. Abgerundete stumpfe Klinge
zum Streichen von Butter. Klingen wurden im Laufe der Jahre von hauseigener Werkstatt-Dependance der
Silberschmiede in Neapel erneuert. Beidseitig ovaler Rahmen mit Kreuzband-Dekor am Ende des Griffs,
vorderseitig mit Hotel Signet.
Deutliche alters- und nutzungsbedingte Gebrauchsspuren in Form von Putzspuren, Kratzern, partiellem
Abrieb sind vorhanden. Originale Versilberung – wunderschöne Alterspatina!

Dekorative und historische Besteckteile aus dem berühmten Hotel Negresco, Nizza mit hohem Nutzwert.

Bei der Eröffnung des Hotels im Jahr 1913 waren unter den erlesenen Gästen neun gekrönte Häupter des europäischen
Hochadels anwesend. So wie Henry Negresco es sich vorgenommen hatte, war es das luxuriöseste Grandhotel an der
Côte d’Azur geworden.

Set of 6 Antique Silver-Plated Butter Knives, 1913

Exquisitely crafted in a heavy version by the renowned silversmith August Wellner Söhne
(Distribution and workshop branch, Naples, Italy).
Markings on one handle: Elephant, Dice, Clover.

These knives were originally made for the Grand Hotel Negresco, Nice, for its inaugural furnishing.
Each knife bears the hotel’s insignia on the handle.

Dimensions: Length: approx. 5.1 in – Blade: approx. 2.2 x 0.7 in – Weight per knife: approx. 1.6 oz
Total weight: approx. 9.9 oz

Elegant and understated, these knives feature a sturdy handle that fits comfortably in the hand,
with a rounded, blunt blade perfect for spreading butter. Over the years, the blades were replaced by the
silversmith’s workshop branch in Naples. Both sides of the handle are framed with an oval border and
crossband decoration at the end, with the hotel insignia on the front.

Visible signs of age and use, including polishing marks, scratches, and minor wear, add character.
Original silver plating with a beautiful aged patina.

These are decorative and historic cutlery pieces from the famous Hotel Negresco, Nice,
combining both elegance and practical use.

At the hotel’s opening in 1913, nine crowned heads of European nobility were among the distinguished guests.
True to Henry Negresco’s vision, it became the most luxurious grand hotel on the Côte d’Azur.
