Alle Teile stehen auf einem schmalen, ovalen
Sockel mit umlaufendem KreuzbandDekor
auf dreifachem Faden.
Darüber erhebt sich ein schlichter Korpus,
der sich nach oben hin verjüngt und an der
jeweiligen Öffnung ebenfalls mit einem um-
laufenden Kreuzband auf fünffachem Faden
abschließt.
Kaffeekanne mit tief angesetzter Schnaupe
in kantiger Form einerseits – andererseits
mit J-förmiger, profilierter Handhabe.
Scharnierdeckel erhebt sich zur Mitte mit
schlichtem Eichelförmigen Knauf.
Milchkännchen mit kurzem, spitz zu-
laufendem Ausgießer einerseits – Hand-
habe siehe Kaffeekanne.
Zuckerdose mit losem Deckel – innen 
vergoldet – beidseitig J-förmige Hand-
haben – Deckel leicht erhöht mit schlichtem
Eichelförmigen Knauf.

Antiker Zustand mit deutlichen alters-
und nutzungsbedingten Gebrauchsspuren
wie z.B. Putzspuren, zarte Kratzer, kleine
Dellchen, minimaler Abrieb im Innen-
bereich der Kaffeekanne, partielle mini-
male Verfärbungen innen. Originale Ver-
silberung innen und außen ist gut er-
halten – Vergoldung der Zuckerdose innen
ist sehr gut erhalten.

Interessantes Set aus der auslaufenden
Pariser Belle Époque

Das Grandhôtel du Louvre wurde 1855
im Auftrag von Napoleon III. errichtet und
nach Fertigstellung auch in dessen Anwesen-
heit eröffnet.
Die Lage des Hotels war und ist einzigartig
im Herzen von Paris auf der Rue de Rivoli;
einzigartig deshalb, weil kein Hotel in Paris
von so vielen interessanten und schönen
Pariser Sehenswürdigkeiten unmittelbar
umgeben ist wie das Grandhôtel du Louvre:
Das weltberühmte Louvre-Museum, der
Place de la Concord, vis-à-vis das wunder-
schöne Gebäude der Pariser l’Opéra Garnier
und nicht zuletzt der berühmte Luftschlitz-
palast.
Selbst der englische Schriftsteller Arthur
Conan Doyle hat in einer seiner berühmten
Sherlock-Holmes-Storys das Grandhôtel
du Louvre eine Rolle spielen lassen.

All pieces stand on a narrow, oval base
with a continuous crossband decoration
set on triple beading.
Above rises a plain body, tapering upward
and finishing at the opening with a matching
encircling crossband on five-fold beading.

The coffee pot features a low-set, angular
spout on one side and a J-shaped, profiled
handle on the other. The hinged lid rises
toward the center and is topped with a
simple acorn-shaped finial.

The creamer has a short, pointed spout on
one side, with a handle matching that of
the coffee pot.

The sugar bowl has a removable lid –
gilt inside – with J-shaped handles on
both sides. The lid is slightly raised and
finished with a simple acorn-shaped finial.

Antique condition with clear signs of age
and use, such as cleaning marks, fine
scratches, small dents, minimal wear
inside the coffee pot, and slight disco-
loration in places. The original silver
plating inside and out is well preserved;
the interior gilding of the sugar bowl is
very well preserved.

An interesting set from the late
Parisian Belle Époque.

The Grand Hôtel du Louvre was
commissioned in 1855 by Napoleon III
and inaugurated in his presence upon
completion.
Its location was and remains unique,
in the heart of Paris on Rue de Rivoli—
unique because no other hotel in Paris
is surrounded by so many remarkable
and beautiful landmarks:
the world-famous Louvre Museum,
Place de la Concorde, directly opposite
the magnificent building of the Paris
Opéra Garnier, and not least the
renowned Palais du Louvre.
Even the English writer Arthur Conan
Doyle featured the Grand Hôtel du
Louvre in one of his famous Sherlock
Holmes stories.
