Glatte zylindrische Wandung – tief angesetzte
Schnaupe – flacher Scharnierdeckel mit
zentriertem, zylindrischen Knauf – Handhabe
mit zweifach geknicktem Henkel und Aus-
sparungen am unteren und oberen Ansatz –
innen am Ausgießer eingelassenes Sieb, um
Teeblätter beim Eingießen zurückzuhalten.

Gemessen am Alter befindet sich die Teekanne
innen wie außen in einem außergewöhnlich
guten Zustand mit normalen alters- und
nutzungsbedingten Gebrauchsspuren, jedoch
ohne Bedeutung. Originale Versilberung ist
komplett erhalten.

Die Teekanne entstand in der Mailänder
Niederlassung der Silberschmiede
Berndorf. Der Entwurf erhielt 1936 auf
der 6. Triennale in Mailand die Gold-
medaille.
Ein Vergleichsstück befindet sich im Berliner
„BRÖHAN-Museum“
(Landesmuseum für Jugendstil, Art déco und
Funktionalismus (1889-1939)

Das heute noch existierende Golf-Hotel
Deanna war Mitbegründer des „Adriatic
Golf Club Cervia“ an der Riviera Romagnola.
Milano Marittima selbst begann sich als
Badeort bereits im frühen 20. Jhdt. zu ent-
wickeln mit Villen und ersten Hotels ab
etwa den 1910er bis 1930er Jahren.

Smooth cylindrical body – deeply set spout
flat hinged lid with centered cylindrical knob 
handle with a double-bent shape and cutouts
at upper and lower attachment points 
built-in strainer inside the spout to hold back
tea leaves when pouring.

Considering its age, the teapot is in except-
ionally good condition both inside and
out, with only normal signs of age and use,
which are negligible. The original silver
plating is fully intact.

The teapot was produced at the Milan
branch of the Berndorf silversmiths.
The design received the gold medal in
1936 at the 6th Triennale in Milan.
A comparable piece is located in the Berlin
“BRÖHAN Museum”
(State Museum for Art Nouveau, Art Deco,
and Functionalism, 1889–1939).

The still-existing Golf Hotel Deanna was
a co-founder of the “Adriatic Golf Club Cervia”
on the Romagna Riviera. Milano Marittima
itself began developing as a seaside resort in
the early 20th century, with villas and the
first hotels built roughly between the 1910s
and 1930s.
