Hotel Signet befindet sich auf Schauseite
des Löffelstiels – Beschriftung rückseitig:
„ATLANTIC HAMBURG“

Bar-/Limonadenlöffel – schlichtes Design
mit aufwendig geprägtem Hotel Signet in
Form eines Wappens mit Krone.
Antiker Zustand mit deutlichen Gebrauchs-
spuren auf der Rückseite der Laffe in Form
von Kratzern. Originale Versilberung ist
gut erhalten.

Das Hotel ATLANTIC wurde am 3. Mai
1909 als Grandhotel für Passagiere von
berühmten Luxus-Linern vor allem der
Hamburg-Amerika-Linie (Hapag)
eröffnet. Schon am Freitag nach der Er-
öffnung sorgten zwei Überseedampfer
für die erste Vollbelegung. Zweihundert-
vierzig Passagiere der 1. Klasse stiegen
in dem neuen Haus ab. Es blieben lange
die Passagiere der großen Schiffe, die vor
oder nach ihrem Atlantik-Trip hier über-
nachteten.

The hotel crest is prominently embossed
on the front of the spoon handle,
with lettering on the reverse:
„ATLANTIC HAMBURG“

Measurements:
Length: approx. 7.1 in
Bowl: approx. 1.8 × 1.0 in
Weight: approx. 1.1 oz

A simple yet elegant bar/lemonade spoon,
featuring an elaborately embossed hotel
crest in the form of a crowned coat of arms.

Antique condition with clear signs of use,
including scratches to the reverse of the bowl.
The original silver plating is well preserved.

The Hotel ATLANTIC opened on May 3,
1909, as a grand hotel for passengers
traveling aboard famous luxury liners,
particularly those of the Hamburg-
America Line (HAPAG).
Just days after its opening, two ocean liners
brought the hotel its first full occupancy.
Two hundred and forty first-class passengers
stayed at the newly opened hotel. For many
years, the hotel remained a preferred accom-
modation for passengers of the great ocean
liners who stayed there before or after their
transatlantic voyages.
