Außergewöhnliches 3-teiliges Art-Déco-Ensemble 1920er Jahre
versilbert- maritime Provenienz

bestehend aus: Zuckerdose/Deckel, Sahnegießer, kleines Väschen

hergestellt von der Silberschmiede WELLNER, Aue in Sachsen
alle Teile sind bodenseitig punziert

Das Ensemble stammt aus dem 1.-Klasse-Bordservice eines Passagierdampfers der
Hamburg-Südamerikanischen Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft (H.S.D.G.)
alle Teile tragen das Reederei-Logo vorderseitig im oberen Drittel

Alle Teile stehen auf schmalen ovalen Sockeln mit gewelltem Außenrand, ein durchgängiges Designelement dieses Modells.
Besondere Akzente setzen die originalen Bakelit-Elemente in gewellter Form: der Deckelknauf der Zuckerdose sowie die oberen
und unteren Griffbefestigungen des Sahnegießers, jeweils mit versilberten, gewellten Mutterschrauben. Zuckerdose mit flach aufliegendem Scharnierdeckel verfügt über zwei kurze Henkelförmige Handhaben, der Sahnegießer über einen elegant langgezogenen Henkel und einen
spitz zulaufenden, hochgezogenen Ausgießer.

Zustand:
Gemessen am Alter von ca. 100 Jahren sehr gut und gepflegt. Originale Versilberung innen und außen hervorragend erhalten,
lediglich geringe alters- und nutzungsbedingte Gebrauchsspuren (feine Putzspuren, zarte Kratzer, minimaler partieller Abrieb).

Die Hamburg-Süd-Reederei prägte in den 1920er Jahren den Südamerika-Passagierverkehr mit technisch modernen und
vergleichsweise komfortablen Schiffen und fuhr hauptsächlich die lange Route zwischen Europa (Hamburg) und Südamerika.
Die zentrale Verbindung war der Transatlantikverkehr von Hamburg nach Südamerika, vor allem an die Ostküste
(Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Buenos Aires).

The ensemble originates from the first-class onboard service of a passenger steamship operated by the
Hamburg South American Steamship Company
(H.S.D.G. = Hamburg-Südamerikanische Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft)
All pieces bear the shipping company’s logo on the front, positioned in the upper third.

All items stand on narrow oval bases with a wavy outer rim, a consistent design element of this model.
Distinctive highlights are the original Bakelite elements in matching wavy form: the finial of the sugar bowl lid
as well as the upper and lower handle mounts of the cream jug, each secured with silver-plated, wavy thumb screws.
The sugar bowl features a flat-lying hinged lid and two short loop-shaped handles; the cream jug is fitted with an
elegantly elongated handle and a sharply tapered, raised spout.

Condition:
Very good and well preserved considering its age of approximately 100 years. The original silver plating,
inside and out, is excellently retained, showing only minor age- and use-related wear (fine polishing marks, l
ight scratches, minimal localized rubbing).

During the 1920s, the Hamburg Süd shipping line shaped South American passenger travel with technically
advanced and comparatively comfortable vessels, primarily operating the long route between Europe (Hamburg)
and South America. The core connection was transatlantic service from Hamburg to South America, especially to
the east coast (Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Buenos Aires).
