Seltene 3-teilige Anbietschale
um 1930 – versilbert

hergestellt in schwerer Ausführung von der
Pariser Silberschmiede ERCUIS
rückseitig punziert

für den Speisewagen-Service des 
Orient-Express (Wagons Lits)
Logo befindet sich im unteren Bereich
des Säulengriffs

Die Anbietschale besteht aus drei ovalen,
miteinander verbundenen Schälchen, deren
Oberflächen durch einen plastisch ausge-
führten Faltenwurf-Dekor gegliedert sind.
Die geschwungene Gestaltung erinnert an
weich fallenden Stoff und verleiht der Schale
eine elegante Formensprache.

Die drei Schälchen ruhen jeweils auf einem
eigenständigen Kugelfuß. Eine besondere
konstruktive Lösung findet sich im Zentrum:
Der dekorative Säulengriff ist mittels einer
Gewindeschraube durch das Schalengestell
befestigt. Die rückseitige Gegenschraube ist
ebenfalls als Kugel ausgeführt und bildet
damit einen vierten Kugelfuß. Dadurch erhält
die Anbietschale nicht nur ihre charakterist-
ische Optik, sondern zugleich eine erhöhte
Standfestigkeit.

Der mittig aufragende Säulengriff ist im
unteren Bereich dreifach gegliedert und zeigt
darüber das Wagons-Lits-Logo. Unterhalb
des fein proportionierten Knaufs wiederholt
sich eine zweifache Unterteilung. Der Knauf,
dessen umlaufender feiner Perlrand ein be-
sonders schönes Detail der handwerklich
aufwendigen Ausführung darstellt, bildet den
Abschluss des Säulengriffs.

Sehr schöner gepflegter Zustand mit
minimalen alters- und nutzungsbedingten
Gebrauchsspuren jedoch unbedeutend.
Originale Versilberung ist komplett
erhalten.

Rare Three-Part Serving Dish
circa 1930 – Silver Plated

Manufactured in a heavy-gauge con-
struction by the renowned Parisian
silversmith ERCUIS,
with the maker’s mark stamped on the
reverse.

Made for the dining-car service of the
Orient-Express (Wagons-Lits).
The Wagons-Lits logo is featured on the
lower section of the central column handle.

The serving dish consists of three oval,
interconnected bowls, their surfaces en-
hanced by a highly sculptural draped-fold
decoration. The flowing design evokes
softly falling fabric and gives the piece an
elegant and sophisticated appearance.

Each of the three bowls rests on its own
individual ball foot. An ingenious construct-
ion can be found at the center: the decora-
tive column handle is secured to the frame-
work of the dish by means of a threaded
screw. The corresponding screw on the
underside is also designed as a ball, there-
by forming a fourth ball foot. This not only
contributes to the distinctive appearance
of the piece, but also provides additional
stability.

The centrally positioned column handle
is triple-sectioned in its lower area and bears
the Wagons-Lits logo above it. Below the
finely proportioned finial, the column feat-
ures a further double division. The finial is
finished with a delicate beaded border run-
ning around its circumference, an especially
attractive detail reflecting the high level of
craftsmanship employed in its manufacture.

Very well-preserved and attractive
condition, with only minimal age- and
userelated signs of wear, which are insigni-
ficant. The original silver plating is com-
pletely preserved.
