Große elegante Jugendstil – Saucière um 1912/13

aus dem 1st-class-Service eines Passagierdampfers der Hamburg-Amerika-Linie (H.A.P.A.G.)
Reederei-Logo befindet sich mittig auf dem Korpus

hergestellt in schwerer Ausführung und hoher Verarbeitungsqualität von der Silberschmiede
WMF – Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik
punziert am Außenrand des Sockels

Die Saucière steht auf einem schmalen ovalen Sockel, der von einem ca. 1 cm breiten BlattDekor-Rand
eingerahmt wird. Darauf erhöht erstreckt sich – vierfach unterteilt mit konvexen Linien – der SaucièrenKorpus mit breitem Ausgießer.
Die oben angesetzte Handhabe in Henkelform hat aufwendige florale Verzierungen. Ebenso schließt die Öffnung der Sauciere mit einem schmalen umlaufenden Bördel ab, der zeittypisch ein zartes KreuzbandDekor auf vierfachem Faden trägt.

Die Saucière befindet sich in einem bemerkenswert gepflegten Zustand mit minimalen alters- und nutzungsbedingten
Gebrauchsspuren in Form von Putz-/Kratzspuren, die jedoch ohne Bedeutung sind. Die originale qualitätsvolle Versilberung ist
innen wie außen sehr gut erhalten.

Aufgrund ihrer schweren Ausführung speichert die Sauciere die Temperatur (kalt wie heiß), so dass sie vielseitig einsetzbar ist, so
zum Beispiel auch zum Servieren von Erdbeeren, Schlagsahne, etc.

The sauce boat stands on a narrow oval base, which is framed by a decorative edge with a leaf motif approx. 0.39 in wide.
Above it rises, slightly elevated and divided into four sections with convex lines, the body of the sauce boat featuring a wide spout.
The handle at the top is crafted in the shape of a loop and adorned with elaborate floral ornamentation. The opening of the sauce boat
is bordered by a narrow surrounding rim, which features a delicate cross-ribbon pattern on a four-thread motif, typical of the period.

The sauce boat is in remarkably well-maintained condition with minimal signs of age and use, limited to minor polishing or scratch marks, which are insignificant. The original high-quality silver plating is very well preserved both inside and out.

Due to its heavy construction, the sauce boat retains temperature well (hot or cold), making it highly versatile – for example, also ideal for serving strawberries, whipped cream, etc.
