Großes versilbertes Art Déco Tablett von 1928

hergestellt von: Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik
rückseitig punziert

Provenienz: Palasthotel GEORGE V., Paris
Hotel Signet befindet sich vorderseitig in der Mitte des Tabletts

Maße:
Länge ca. 48 x 35 cm
vertiefter Spiegel: ca. 36 x 27 cm
nach außen gewölbter Rand ca. 4 – 6 cm  breit
Gewicht ca. 878 g

Schlichtes, ovales Tablett mit vertieftem Spiegel – hochgezogener Rand ist nach außen gewölbt und
umlaufend mehrfach durch zarte senkrechte Linien unterteilt.

Gepflegter, authentischer Zustand mit normalen alters- und nutzungsbedingten Gebrauchsspuren wie
Putzspuren, zarten Kratzern – jedoch unbedeutend. Originale Versilberung ist komplett erhalten.

Eine Pariser Legende…..
Das GEORGE V. ist nur wenige Schritte von den berühmten Champs-Elysées entfernt und liegt im
Herzen des „Goldenen Dreiecks“, das als eines der elegantesten Stadtviertel von Paris gilt.
Die neoklassizistische Fassade des Gebäudes überblickt die gleichnamige Avenue George V und
wurde vom französischen Staat als Seltenheit des Art-Déco klassifiziert und unter Denkmalschutz
gestellt.
Der französische Poet Leon-Paul Fargue bezeichnete diesen Hotelpalast einmal vielsagend als
„Transatlantischen Luxusliner, der geradezu majestätisch in der aristokratischsten der Pariser
Avenuen ankert“.

Large Silver-Plated Art Deco Tray, 1928

Outward-curving rim: approx. 1.6–2.4 in  wide
Weight: approx. 1 lb 15 oz (878 g)

A simple, elegant oval tray with a recessed central well. The raised rim curves outward
and is decorated all around with multiple delicate vertical lines.

Well-kept, authentic condition with normal signs of age and use, such as light polishing marks
and fine scratches, all minor and unobtrusive. The original silver plating is fully preserved.

A Parisian legend…
The George V. is located just a few steps from the famous Champs-Élysées, in the heart of the
“Golden Triangle,” one of Paris’s most elegant districts. The building’s neoclassical façade
overlooks Avenue George V and has been classified by the French state as a rare example of
Art Deco architecture and placed under historic preservation.
The French poet Léon-Paul Fargue once famously described this palace hotel as a
“transatlantic luxury liner, majestically anchored in the most aristocratic of Parisian avenues.”
