Große Servierschüssel mit Deckel
versilbert

Runde tiefe Schüssel beidseitig mit oben
angesetzten, eingelassenen Kugelknäufen.
Flach aufliegender, gestufter Deckel mit
zentrierter Handhabe in Bogenform.
Schwere, massive Ausführung in exzellenter
Verarbeitung.

Gemessen am Alter hervorragender Zustand
mit wenigen, normalen alters- und nutzungs-
bedingten Gebrauchsspuren, jedoch unbe-
deutend. Originale Versilberung ist komplett
sehr gut erhalten.

Luc Lanel prägte als künstlerischer Leiter 
über mehr als 25 Jahre hinweg das Sortiment
der Silberschmiede Christofle maßgeblich.
Neben hochwertiger Gebrauchssilberware, die
unter anderem in renommierten Luxushotels
und auf Passagierschiffen zum Einsatz kam,
entstanden in dieser Zeit auch eindrucksvolle,
repräsentative sowie liturgische Arbeiten.

Er knüpfte eine enge Freundschaft mit dem
Dänen Christian Fjerdingstad, der 1924 als
Gestalter von Christofle engagiert wurde,
und vor allem eine echte Verbundenheit 
mit Toni Bouilhet, der 1929 an die Spitze
der Silberschmiede berufen wurde.
„Le groupe des trois“ bildete in den 1930er
Jahren das schlagkräftige Trio des Hauses:
Bouilhet als Direktor, Fjerdingstad als
Modelldesigner und Lanel als künstlerischer
Leiter.

Round, deep bowl with integrated spherical
side handles on both sides. Flat, tiered lid
with a centrally positioned arched handle.
Heavy, solid construction with excellent
craftsmanship.

Considering its age, the piece is in excellent
condition with only minor, typical signs of
wear and use, which are insignificant.
The original silver plating is fully intact and
very well preserved.

For more than 25 years, Luc Lanel signifi-
cantly shaped the range of the Christofle
silversmith as artistic director. In addition
to high-quality functional silverware—
used in renowned luxury hotels and on
passenger ships—this period also saw the
creation of impressive representative and
liturgical works.

He developed a close friendship with
Christian Fjerdingstad, who joined Christofle
as a designer in 1924, and an especially
strong connection with Toni Bouilhet, who
became head of the company in 1929.
“Le groupe des trois” (“The Group of Three”)
formed the influential trio of the house in the
1930s: Bouilhet as director, Fjerdingstad as
model designer, and Lanel as artistic director.
